Open-Source Digital Commerce Guide Released Today

HotWax Systems, a 2015 Gartner “Cool Vendor in Digital Commerce”1, today announced the global release of “A Decision Maker’s Guide to Open-Source Digital Commerce”, a publication featuring compelling research from Gartner, Inc. and innovative articles by HotWax Systems experts.

“The purpose of the guide is to empower digital commerce decision makers with accurate and relevant information about open-source software,” said Jacopo Cappellato, CTO, HotWax Systems.

Open source digital commerce software is steadily gaining visibility and credibility, putting pressure on traditional, proprietary solutions. Because of this, information about open source software is readily available, but often inaccurate or incomplete.

“We felt it was important to create a concise, timely guide to open-source software for digital commerce,” said Mike Bates, CEO, HotWax Systems.“Not only does open source e-commerce software offer freedom from burdensome licensing fees, but also empowers active and growing businesses to access unparalleled flexibility, scalability, and innovation in technical capabilities and related business processes.”

The guide details the benefits of open-source software, offers practical advice about evaluating digital commerce options, the need to re-platform, and other key considerations faced by digital commerce decision makers.
