The Story.

In 2012, Skootz.com launched its first e-commerce store, utilizing Magento. Less than two years after the initial site launch, Skootz found that a more powerful and robust e-commerce solution and ERP system were needed. And quickly. The demand for its officially licensed Bandz, Lacez and Replacez products had skyrocketed. But sometimes growth is painful, and soon the Skootz  operation began slamming into the many barriers inherent in its existing e-commerce system.

Skootz needed a better e-commerce solution. A solution powerful enough to centrally manage an increasing number of e-commerce orders. A solution sturdy enough to  fulfill sizable B2B orders from stadiums, arenas, universities, teams and retailers. A solution flexible enough to handle orders of widely varying quantities–from single bands to tens of thousands of bands–out of just one warehouse. A solution robust enough to accurately track inventory for hundreds of SKUs, with new products being added weekly.

The Solution.

In less than six months, HotWax Systems delivered in a big way,implementing a redesigned storefront using the latest mobile first/responsive design. It also launched a full-featured e-commerce solution including ERP to support both the growing e-commerce channel and the rapidly expanding B2B channel. Built on the Apache OFBiz framework and customized by HotWax Systems, Apache OFBiz Accelerator continues to deliver centralized order management, inventory and fulfillment. And all this regardless of order size and order placement method.
